The State leader praised Tata’s move to expand business operations to other areas fields, including port development and coffee production and processing.
He said he hopes that enterprises from both nations will propose good ideas to boost two-way trade and investment at the forthcoming Vietnam – India Business Forum towards raising bilateral trade to US$15 billion in the time to come.
Sengupta in turn briefed President Quang on the Tata Group’s projects in Vietnam, including a US$70 million coffee processing facility in Binh Duong and solar power projects in four provinces with a combined capacity of 250 mW.
Tata is working hard to finalize these projects on schedule and desires to expand to other fields in Vietnam, he said.
Found in 1869, Tata Group is one of India’s largest conglomerates, which has found their way in over 40 countries and territories and among India’s biggest investors in Vietnam. It is building the Long Phu 2 thermal power plant in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang.
