Receiving the Vietnamese official on September 28 in Paris, the UNESCO Director-General hailed the fruitful cooperation with Vietnam and also thanked the Vietnamese Government for hosting her visit last August.

In turn, Tuyet Mai highlighted UNESCO’s multi-sector projects as contributions to sustainable growth in Vietnam, adding that r
elations between the two sides are growing well, particularly in culture.

She said she hopes both sides will expand cooperation in the future to fully tap potential in the areas of science, education and information.

Vietnam has made pragmatic contributions to the UNESCO by actively participating in the organisation’s World Heritage Committee and Executive Board, and by dispatching experts to work for the UNESCO.

Tuyet Mai pledged her best efforts to reinforce the friendship and partnership between Vietnam and the UNESCO and to increase Vietnam’s engagement in the organisation’s operations during her tenure.
