During a recent meeting with a delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand led by Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh, Governor of Bangkok Chadchart highly appreciated Vietnam's economic growth in recent years along with an abundant and highly skilled labor force
“Vietnam is a very important friend for us in the region, especially with a vibrant and strongly growing economy. I think both sides should strengthen cooperation further. Vietnam has an abundant, highly skilled young workforce, and a very good education system.
There are many Thai enterprises and groups such as CP, Amata are investing in the Vietnamese market in fields such as agriculture, retail, energy, real estate, with many attractive projects, " Chadchart stated.
Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh expressed his delight at the good development of Vietnam - Thailand relations in multiple fields during the past 46 years. The two countries established a strategic partnership in 2013 and it was then upgraded to an enhanced strategic partnership in 2019.
Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN and the 9th largest investor in Vietnam with more than 600 valid projects and a total accumulated registered capital of more than US$13 billion.
The two sides are looking forward to the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership in 2023.
The two sides agreed to accelerate the resumption of delegation exchanges at all levels, including those of provincial, municipal and business leaders in a bid to bolster cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, tourism and cultural, educational and people-to-people exchanges between Bangkok and Vietnam's sister localities (including Hanoi capital, Ho Chi Minh City and Thua Thien Hue province) as well as expanding cooperation with other Vietnamese localities.
Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh also endorsed the idea of the Bangkok Governor to coordinate in organizing conferences between Bangkok and major cities of Vietnam in order to share experience in urban traffic management, flood and air pollution control, and saltwater intrusion.
Thanh affirmed his willingness to support connecting Bangkok with Vietnamese localities to augment cooperation between the two countries in the time ahead.
