The Tru Son ancient pottery village is approximately 20km from Do Luong town in the central province of Nghe An. |
The villagers use the hardened clay from the Nghi Van and Nghi Loc Communes approximately seven to 10 km away. This clay makes pots quite strong and helps with the binding in forming the pot. |
All products of the Tru Son pottery village are made by the skilful hands of women. |
To make the highest quality ceramic pots, the most important stage is firing the clay pots. |
Some 250 and 300 pots are arranged in a kiln. |
It’s a lot of work to make the pots and villagers sell them for only a meagre price ranging from US$.50 (VND1,000) to US$2.50VND5,000. |
