The race takes place on the Han River and is held with the aim of marking the 48th anniversary of the liberation of the central city which occurred on March 29, 1975.
The event draws the participation of 10 teams from Da Nang and the central province of Quang Nam.
The race is greeted by much enthusiastic encouragement from thousands of locals and tourists from early in the morning.
Crowds gather on Thuan Phuoc bridge and on the banks of Han River to show support for their teams.
The occasion is also considered to be one of the key tourism products which helps to attract visitors to the central city.
A team from Duy Xuyen district of Quang Nam province wins first prize at the event.
