The flag-hoisting ceremony is organised at Stand B at the My Dinh National Stadium on the morning of May 11.
Each sporting delegation sends a total of 31 members to the ceremony.
The ceremony is held solemnly and COVID-19 pandemic prevention requirements are fully observed.

SEA Games 31 themed “For a Stronger South East Asia” is scheduled to take place in Hanoi and 11 nearby localities from May 12 to 23. The biggest regional sporting event will feature 40 sports and is expected to attract around 10,000 participants.
The flags of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and hosts Vietnam are subsequently raised, along with the national anthem of each country.
