With the COVID-19 pandemic developing in a complicated manner, the administration of the capital requests the temporary suspension of non-essential services to curb the potential spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
This includes the authorities of Hanoi requesting locals to not leave their home unless necessary. Public gatherings are therefore discouraged, including exercising outdoors.
Many residents of Thanh Tri district fail to follow regulations issued by the capital’s authorities as they continue to gather to enjoy outdoor entertainment activities during the afternoon.
Children not wearing face masks whilst playing outside is a common sight.
Local people gather in Tan Trieu commune to fly kites.
Increasing numbers of children go out to play as their schools are closed amid the country’s COVID-19 fight.
Crowds of adults also congregate as they exercise in public.
Numerous local people gather here on the afternoon of May 20, thereby creating a rare bustling area amid fears relating to COVID-19.
Children play with their toys in the sand without wearing face masks.
Both parents and children join crowds outside and don’t wear face masks, thereby violating the regulations set out by Hanoi’s authorities on COVID-19 prevention and control.
The fine for not wearing a face mask in public is between VND1 million and VND3 million for citizens. However, plenty of local people seem to not worry about this punishment as they enjoy entertainment activities in public areas.
A large gathering is held in front of the headquarters of Tan Trieu commune’s authorities in Thanh Tri district, with no police officers on hand to remind people of the regulations or to implement fines.
Many people can be seen doing exercise and flying kites in front of the My Dinh National Stadium.
Some young people play football and don’t wear a face mask, increasing the risk of spreading the SARS-CoV-2 virus among the community.
