Head coach Park Hang-seo divides all 70 footballers gathered in the camp into four separate line-ups to play against each other so that all of the players can get some practice.
Footballers from Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) FC, including Xuan Manh, Van Hoang, and Van Duc, have the chance to compete for a spot in the team after meeting their teammates following a period of isolation as part of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) measures.
Players such as Xuan Truong, Hoang Duc, and Trong Hoang don’t play in the friendly games due to injuries.
The match is held behind closed doors.
According to a source from VTCNews, both sides representing the senior national team beat the U22 teams 2-1 and 1-0, with Cong Phuong (C) one of the goal scorers during the games.
This represents the only practice for the senior team before departing for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to partake in the second round of qualifying matches in the Asian region for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The U22 footballers are now scheduled to practice until June 6. Their international tournaments will be held later this year, including the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Vietnam.
Both teams enjoy a rest day on May 19 and will resume training sessions on May 20.
