Massive testing for over 3,000 people linked to Sunny Club hotspot

VOV.VN - The northern province of Vinh Phuc has moved to swiftly test more than 3,000 local people in its Phuc Yen city where a coronavirus hotspot was detected at karaoke bar Sunny Club.

Ton Manh Cuong, an official of the Phuc Yen administration, says all F1, F2 and F3 cases are given priority, and testing results are given in three hours.
All local residents, regardless of their gender and age, are required to show up for COVID-19 testing.
They are required to don face masks, wash hands with sanitizer and keep a safe distance before the test.
Chairs are put up in a way that people keep a safe distance from each other.
Each individual must fill out a health declaration form before the test.
Up to 1,200 people in Trung Trac ward of Phuc Yen city have had nasal swabs collected to COVID-19 testing on May 5.
F1, F2, and F3 cases are all made priority for such tests.
Local residents highly appreciate the administration’s massive testing campaign in order to early detect and quarantine suspect cases.
Following tests, they are required to remain in isolation at home under the close watch of relevant agencies.
According to the provincial administration, more than 5,000 people who directly or indirectly contacted COVID-19 patients during the past few days need monitoring for medical surveillance.
As of 00:00 a.m. on May 5, 2,845 people have been tested, with 14 positive cases. A total of 2,315 people have tested negative whilst 516 cases are still awaiting their results.
The provincial administration has asked the local healthcare sector to increase the testing capacity by five times to test all F1 cases.
It has also asked localities to expand concentrated quarantine facilities and prepare resources for a field hospital to deal with the worst-case scenario.
Vinh Phuc suggests that the Health Ministry provide support treatment for positive COVID-19 patients and assist the province with testing due to local people’s increasing demand for testing.
