A stark contrast seen as Quang Ninh resumes post-pandemic services

VOV.VN - A large number of people have flocked to beaches and parks in Quang Ninh, a tourism-driven locality in northern Vietnam after local authorities decided to re-open local tourism services, in contrast to the quietness seen in other tourist sites.

Quang Ninh resumes its local tourism services from September 21 in tight COVID-19 control. Beaches, parks, restaurants, and coffee shops have re-opened their door after three months elapsed without a single community case of COVID-19.
Thousands of local people rush to public beaches such as Bai Chay and Hon Gai, entertaining themselves following a COVID-19 hiatus.
Though beaches are allowed to receive back local visitors, tight pandemic control measures are in place to ensure the visitors’ safety.
Parks and flower gardens also attract large numbers of local residents to join in sporting activities.
Thousands of people head to Square 30/10 in Ha Long city to watch the moon rise and enjoy lion dances during the Mid-Autumn Festival that falls on September 21.
Hotels and restaurants are lit up colourfully to welcome back the first customers after a long period of closures due to COVID-19 risks.
In contrast, key tourist sites such as Tuan Chau have received no tourists at all, except for security officers at work.
Plenty of food outlets and coffee shops in the tourist resort remain shut down.
Quang Ninh province has yet to re-open its doors for tourists from other localities, so tourism areas remain in limbo, a clear sign of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Luxury cruise ships have been left quiet for the past year.
They are forced to dock at Ha Long Bay, with the owners not knowing when the service restarts again.
The wharfs are blocked with wooden barriers in order to ensure security as there have been no guests for a long time.
Similar to cruise ships, many hotels are forced to shut down in Tuan Chau resort as a result of the COVID-19 impact.
