The exhibition aims to foster investor interest in industrial zones (IZs) and tighten the ties between local and foreign industrial infrastructure development businesses.
MPI Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Trung highlighted the important roleIZs play in boosting economic growth, increasing industrial value, and improving exports. Vietnam’s IZs generate approximately two million jobs and annually earn tens of trillions of Vietnam dong (VND).
Deputy Minister Trung acknowledged local IZs have been challenged by the negative repercussions of the recent global economic downturn. VietIZ 2013 will expand opportunities for Vietnam’s IZs to advertise their advantages and meet with potential trade partners and investors.
Fifty pavilions representing 45 local and international businesses are displaying their products and services at the exhibition until its conclusion on November 30.
The exhibition is also expected to inspire IZs to raise the quality of their offered services and hone their competitive edge.
