VinFast has received a total of 3,692 orders within 12 hours since the company announced its decision to receive deposit, representing a record high number of orders in the local automobile industry, said a VinFast representative.
Customers who order before June 30 will be offered an attractive price of VND590 million, in addition to a one year free-of-charge battery lease, said the representative.
Experts believe that thousands of people have made bookings for the VinFast VF e34 as the deposit amount for this model is relatively low at only VND10 million. In addition, customers will not lose their deposit in the event that they do not receive the car.
VinFast has carefully researched the psychology of customers regarding electric vehicles, with the majority extremely caring about the electric car’s battery.
Due to this factor the company immediately launched a battery rental model, as opposed to selling a car featuring a regular battery.
The move has therefore helped to reduce product costs whilst bringing peace of mind to clients as VinFast bears all risks relating to battery quality and life expectancy. Customers are also able to exchange used batteries for newer models.
In relation to cost, buyers only have to pay the monthly battery rental equivalent to the cost of purchasing gasoline. Indeed, VF e34 users will pay a monthly battery subscription fee of VND1.450 million per month for a maximum travel distance of 1,400km - the average monthly minimum travel distance of a normal car.
Thai Thi Thanh Hai, CEO of Vinfast, said the company wants users to get advantages of an electric car in comparison with a gasoline-fuelled care.
Most notably, customers do not have to pay for batteries and operating costs which can be considered exactly equal to the cost of gasoline consumption, while their price and features are superior to gasoline cars, she said.
