Terminal 2, located next to the current terminal, has a total investment of US$154 million.

The construction on the terminal began in 2015 with Da Nang International Airport Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock as the project investor.

The new terminal is scheduled to inaugurate on May 19. However, Vietnam Airlines began putting the terminal into operation on May 9.

Jetstar Pacific also began operating the terminal as of May 11.

The check-in area in terminal 2 has 40 counters. The design aims to utilize natural light, energy saving and create redundant spaces to avoid overload in the future.

Three out of 40 check-in counters serve business class clients (Counter No 20, 21, 22). In addition, airlines can expand their check- in counters in the right wing when necessary.

The new terminal can accommodate 1,600 passengers at peak hours. It will replace the current one to become the international terminal in the time ahead.

Danang Airport will have two independent terminals and is predicted to serve more than 2.3 million of passengers by 2022, 4 million by 2025 and 6 million by 2030 as planned.

The Business Class room, situated on the third floor, covers a total area of 860 sq.m. It can accommodate more than 180 passengers and provide regular service to business class

passengers of Vietnam Airlines and other international airlines.
