As Tet draws near, traders have been flocking to Dai Hoang village in Hoa Hau commune, Ly Nhan district, to purchase the banana, one of the province’s specialties.
The banana is a rare variety and is much sought after by customers before Tet.
A local trader in Dai Hoang village says the bananas are sweet and delicious with a good shape. Many people buy these bananas to place on their altar or present to their relatives as gifts during Tet. 
Dai Hoang bananas enjoy meticulous care from gardeners due to their high prices, a large bunch of bananas can be sold for up to millions of Vietnamese dong. 
At present, the bananas are nearly sold out.

Each banana tree only produces a bunch and they take an entire year to harvest.
Tran Khac Lam, a garden owner in Dai Hoang village, says the bananas are sold out as traders get in early to purchase the special bananas.

   To harvest the Dai Hoang bananas, farmers must take meticulous care.
 

The price of the bananas range between VND20,000-30,000 per small bunch during normal days but can rise to one hundred Vietnamese dong fora small bunch.
A bunch of bananas can be priced at one million Vietnamese dong during Tet.
 
 
 
Traders have to order the Dai Hoang bananas ahead of Tet when the bananas are still not ripe.
