There are currently two million vehicles in the country, excluding motorbikes, said speakers at the launching ceremony with the auto parts and accessories retail segment having recorded a 43% surge in the past four years.

The speakers said the event specifically targeted tapping into and catering to the rapidly growing local automotive service industry including the 37 million motorcycles in the country.

The 3-day event running March 15-17 aims to bring foreign sector companies into the expansive market.

At the opening, there were 60 exhibitors from Taiwan, 75 from both Thailand and Singapore and 18 from other countries including Germany, Poland, the Republic of Korea, the US, Singapore, Italy, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The expo expects to welcome 8,000 visitors.
