In his remarks, the Venezuelan diplomat said with the assistance of Vietnamese experts, Venezuela has developed nearly 40 rice varieties with high yield, adding that Venezuelan farmers have succeeded in cultivating three crops a year and ensuring food security.
Apart from partnerships in oil and gas, the two countries are implementing projects to develop rice cultivation and aquaculture. Venezuela’s shrimp output during the previous year surged by 60% as a result of Vietnam’s technical support, he said.
The Venezuelan Government will actively improve policies on foreign investment attraction, he said while showing his nation’s desire to expand cooperation projects, especially on the garment-textile field with Vietnamese investors.
Concerning activities to support Vietnamese Agent Orange/dioxin victims, the ambassador said the Venezuelan Embassy in Hanoi will continue accompanying the country in the fight for justice for the AO victims, as well as in humanitarian activities in support of them.
