
The move comes following the company conducting a survey of investment locations within the locality as part of efforts to develop a commercial hub within the region.
In line with the terms of the MoU, Dong Nai province will strengthen its co-operation with AEON Mall as both sides strive to develop a shopping mall locally that features high-quality Japanese products.
Simultaneously, the province will also provide support to suppliers, whilst also developing human resources to introduce high-quality products from the locality to the Japanese market.
A representative of AEON Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd. stated that Dong Nai province represents a potential investment destination due its large population and being home to a host of foreign-invested projects.
Dung went on to state that businesses from 45 countries and territories are currently investing in over 1,500 projects in the locality, with a total registered capital of US$31.8 billion.
Of the figure, Japan has 262 projects with a total investment of approximately US$4.9 billion, thereby ranking third among countries and territories which invest in the province.
Moving forward, the locality will create favourable conditions for AEON Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd. to finalise investment procedures to implement the project and put it into operation as soon as possible.
