Law makers emphasized the need to amend the revised Law on Technology Transfer to institutionalize Vietnam’s policies on scientific and technological development and avoid upgrading to outdated or soon-to-be outdated technologies. Some deputies said as agriculture forms an important component in Vietnam’s economy, it is necessary to promote scientific and technological application in this area, especially in cultivation, husbandry, preservation, and post-harvest processing.
The National Assembly has voted to approve the state budget plan for next year. During their session the same day, deputies agreed on a budget deficit projected at 178.3 trillion dong or 3.5% of the GDP.
