President Tran Dai Quang, his wife, and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Tokyo at noon on May 29, beginning a five-day State visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese State.

The Vietnamese President was welcomed at Haneda International Airport with a 21-gun salute in the presence of many government officials from both sides. 

The visit takes place in the context that the two countries are celebrating the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

After his arrival, President Quang visits Gunma Prefecture, which is one of the leading industrial manufacturing centers in Japan.

At a meeting with Gunma prefecture’s Governor Masaaki Osawa, President Quang asks Gunma to step up cooperation with Vietnamese localities so as to fully tap potential of both sides by intensifying people-to-people exchanges and boost collaboration in tourism and investment. 

Gunma governor Osawa says 12 businesses from the prefecture have invested in Vietnam. Gunma is also helping almost 40 enterprises prepare to invest in the country in the time ahead. 

The Vietnamese State leader visits Koganei Seiki Co., which employs many Vietnamese workers,

and Koganei Seiki’s factory.
