PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his entourage arrived at Vnukovo 2 Airport in Moscow on May 16 to begin his official visit to Russia where he will attend the Russia-ASEAN Summit in Sochi.

Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov welcomed PM Phuc at the airport.

PM Phuc and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev held talks after the welcome ceremony.

The two leaders emphasised the resolve to enhance the countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership during their talks and agreed on measures to foster bilateral cooperation for mutual benefits.

They witnessed the signing of a contract between Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and VSP PVEP Bitexco Sovico.

The two leaders answered questions of reporters at a press briefing.

PM Phuc underscored that the two countries should foster trade relations.

PM Medvedev hoped bilateral cooperation would expand to the fields of high-tech, agriculture, mining, shipbuilding and tourism.

PM Phuc met President of the Russian Communist Party (RCP) G .Zyuganov.

The same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with representatives of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Association of Russian Former Military Experts.
