Themed “The karst plateau – thousand blooming flowers”, the event featured excellent art performances reappearing the legend of the buckwheat flower.

Visitors were very excited for the first ever event
Tran Duc Quy, Deputy Chairman of the Ha Giang People's Committee said the festival aimed to honour the unique cultural values of Dong Van Karst Plateau, and contribute to developing the buckwheat flower into tourism brand of the karst plateau and also Ha Giang province.
The festival attracted the participation of professional artists from ethnic minority groups including Dao, Mong, Tay, Nung, Lo Lo, PuPeo, and Bo Y.

The festival will last till November 15
The buckwheat plant grows in clusters of small pinkish white flowers and produces triangular shaped edible seeds.The flowers are sensitive to sunlight, changing their colour from white in early morning to pink in late afternoon.
