It's the city’s answer to the Japanese tourist-magnet cherry blossom festival and stretches over three days each spring on May 6-8 showcasing thousands of red flamboyant blossom trees in dozens of varieties.

On May 1, hundreds of students began preparing for this year’s parade, which includes a float carrying a statue of General Le Chan,

King Ngo Quyen,

intellectual Nguyen Binh Khiem,

plenty of red flamboyant trees,

song and dance repertoires,

martial arts performances,

lotus dances,

and puppetry.
