Pham Loan, 62, has spent many years making paper flowers.

In fact, Loan has been creating wildly detailed and intricate petals that are nearly impossible to distinguish from the real thing for most all of his adult life.

“I truly enjoy the craft, it’s an endless inspiration for me, especially during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays,” he said.

His home is full of paper flowers that feel as if they are from a beautiful dream.

“I feel blessed to have inherited the knack of making them from my ancestors,” he said.

Fewer people are making them nowadays as they take up a great deal of time and the earnings are low.

Paper flowers are often used to decorate altars.

Making paper flower requires patience and meticulousness.
