Three young ladies stand amid one of the many brightly coloured walkways at the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival on the evening of September 11 at the Asia Park in the City of Danang.

In the background people ride one of the highest Ferris wheels in Vietnam, alit with thousands of multi-coloured flashing lights, providing a panoramic bird’s eye view of the surrounding City of Danang.

Ten countries are represented by animated characters on parade floats at the Festival—such as a buffalo (Vietnam); dragon (China); bear moon (Korea); golden cow (Nepal); and gold macaw (Indonesia).

The meticulously detailed and brilliantly coloured floats, pulled by clowns, carry the 10 animated characters on the evening of September 9 along a parade route through Asia Park at the Festival.

Pictured are clowns pulling the bear moon (Korea) float on the evening of September 11 along the Asia Park parade route.

Lion dances, with tens of thousands of flashing LED lights, along with the music of beating drums, clashing cymbals, and resounding gongs, accompany the floats in the parade.

Traditional mythical lion dance figurines are also part of the parade bringing good luck and humour to the parade at the Festival.

Belly dancers add to the festive atmosphere of the parade on the evening of September 11 through the Asia Park in the City of Danang celebrating the Festival.

Carnival rides for all ages help light up the Festival with thrills, cheer and excitement.
