Karinjuku is one of Japan’s five largest private education groups in Ashikaga, Tochigi prefecture.Addressing the ceremony, VOV President Nguyen The Ky gave sincere thanks to the group for the gift,  saying that cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring and Japanese vitality. In recent years, cherry blossom festivals have been held in Hanoi and many other Vietnamese localities, and the image of cherry trees in bloom has become familiar and much appreciated among the Vietnamese people.

As a press agency, VOV will do its utmost to promote the friendly relations and strategic partnership between the two countries, said Mr Ky.

Mr Ky spoke highly of Japanese education and said that many young Vietnamese people consider the Japanese education system as a trusted destination for further study.

He added that the radio and television broadcast industry uses a vast array of Japanese equipment and that Vietnamese and Japanese journalists have maintained close ties for many years.

Takao Toshihiko, a representative of the Kairinjuku group, in turn expressed his hope that cooperation between the group and Vietnamese schools will thrive in the coming time.

VOV will plant 60 cherry trees on the precincts of its units and present the remaining 40 trees to northern Hung Yen province.
