VOV.VN - With the renowned artistic architecture of the Royal Palace intact, including plenty of historic relics and mausoleums of the Nguyen Dynasty, the former imperial city of Hue in central Vietnam is an attractive tourism hub during the Lunar New Year (Tet).

Khai Dinh Tomb (Ung Tomb). King Khai Dinh ruled Vietnam from 1916 to 1925 as the 12th king of the Nguyen Dynasty and was the last to build the mausoleum. Khai Dinh Tomb is a masterpiece of glass and terracotta, representing one of the most unique architecture sites full of artistic and architectural value.
Sitting on Cam Khe mountain about 14 km away from Hue city, Minh Mang Tomb, known as Hieu Lang, was built by King Thieu Tri in 1843 after three years of construction. The tomb consists of two lakes with unique architecture and is one of the most majestic and pedestal mausoleums of kings of the Nguyen Dynasty.
Gia Long Tomb, also known as Thien Tho Lang, is the mausoleum of Emperor Gia Long who lived from 1762 to 1820 and was the founder of the Nguyen Dynasty. Located in Huong Tho commune, the tomb is actually a complex featuring several mausoleums of the royal family. It boasts a combination of spectacular natural landscape and architecture as visitors can immerse themselves within the tranquil and poetic space.
King Kien Phuc's tomb (Boi Lang) is located in the grounds of King Tu Duc's tomb. The Boi Lang area includes the tomb of King Kien Phuc, the Chiem Khiem palace and the associated architectural works, all of which are all located on the same hill, with the site also being a place for King Tu Duc to savour scenic views. In 1884, when King Kien Phuc died, the new court built the mausoleum and brought the king's body to the location for burial.
Thieu Tri Tomb, known as Xuong Lang, is located in Cu Chanh village of Thuy Bang commune in Huong Thuy district. Compared with the tombs of its predecessors, Thieu Tri tomb has its own unique features. This is the only tomb facing the northwest, a direction that is rarely used in the architecture of palaces and tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty. There is a majestic mountain which is about eight km from the tomb with the Perfume River (Huong River) flowing through the region.
Tu Duc Tomb, known as Khiem Lang, was built in a narrow valley in Thuong Ba village of Thuy Xuan ward in Hue city. This is one of the most beautiful works of the royal architecture of the Nguyen Dynasty. The tomb is located in the middle of an immense pine forest, roughly eight km from Hue city. Through Vu Khiem gate, visitors can see Luu Khiem lake area where the King often came to see flowers, write poems, and read books. The structure of Tu Duc’s tomb carries an air of sophistication with charming scenery, harmoniously combining both land and water elements.
